Volunteer

JOIN OUR VOLUNTEER TEAM TODAY!

We are always looking for dedicated volunteers to help us preserve history,
engage the community, and expand our programs.

Volunteers at Maple Ridge Museum and/or Haney House can do a wide variety of tasks, depending on their interests.

Museum Tours – Volunteers open and close the museum(s) and give tours to visitors. Currently we are looking for volunteers to help us keep Haney House open to the public during the summer on Fridays and Sundays. Volunteers will need to commit to at least one 6 hour shift a month.

Programs and Events – Volunteers help prepare for and facilitate events such as Music on the Wharf, community events around Maple Ridge, and family fun days at the museum. A typical shift is approximately four hours and volunteers are contacted as needed.

Research, Archival, and Collections – Volunteers assist with scanning and digitization, collections management, research, and re-housing archival materials and artifacts. Shift length and frequency are flexible, but a regular commitment is preferred.

Headstone Preservation Project – We have an open call for volunteers to clean headstones at the Maple Ridge and Whonnock Cemeteries and have six cleaning dates over the summer. If you would like to learn more and sign up to clean, click here.

If you are a youth volunteer, 18 years or younger, please have a parent or guardian download this consent letter. Page 2 should be completed by your parent/guardian and it can be scanned & emailed to engage@mapleridgemuseum.org or brought with you to our first meeting.
