Tom Leaf was born in 1899 in Aldergrove and moved to Whonnock in 1929 with his family.  Olive McCormick was born on October 28th, 1901, in Saskatchewan; the second youngest of eight children born to David and Margaret McCormick.

Olive married Tom Leaf in 1924, and they had three children together; William, Harry and Margaret.

Olive was a very active woman.  She was a member of the Whonnock United Church Ladies Aid and the Whonnock branch of the Women’s Institute.  She was a mainstay of the Ruskin Fall Fair, often judging entries.

Olive died in 1995 at the age of 94, predeceased by her husband Tom in 1992.  At the time of Olive’s death, she had ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Margaret Leaf married Bill Mattson, and Harry Leaf married a woman named Joyce.  William and Harry were the only two children to continue living in Maple Ridge.
